Interviewing sources on tough subject matter is easier for some than others.

I’m not sure I’d say writing this piece on teen dating violence for Chicago Health magazine was easy because the women I interviewed had some difficult stories to share.

As a writer, taking those stories and writing an article that is both informative and helpful can be a challenge. You don’t want to sound like you’re sensationalizing the story but at the same time you’re trying to portray the situation in the most truthful light as possible while giving the reader something by which to go on.

There is so much more I could have written about this topic but knowing when to stop is just as important when writing.
