Writing about restaurants, food and drink is fun for me because it forces me to think of ways to engage the reader and describe the scene and flavors without the piece coming across as boring and academic. Without fail, there is usually something about a place that is unique. It’s our job to find it.

Recently I visited Bottlefork, a new restaurant in Chicago’s River North neighborhood which is better known for its touristy spots than amazing dining scene (although, don’t get me wrong, there are some great dining spots there, too).
